Elderwood at Hornell is seeking a kind, collaborative, and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to provide personal and compassionate care in a supportive team environment. The ADON (RN) leads, supports, and ensures the health and well-being of residents by assisting the Director of Nursing (DON) with overall staffing, staff training and development, and management of personnel in the Nursing department. The ADON (RN) assesses residents, performs audit measures, and follows state, local, and federal regulations and best practices within their scope of practice. This individual also serves as the Infection Control Preventionist. They assist the DON in directing and developing nursing activities and staff on all levels according to healthcare facility procedures and assure the delivery of quality nursing services in a medical facility. The ADON develops, implements, communicates, and interprets nursing policies and procedures that adhere to the State Board of Nursing and State Nurse Practice Act requirements, facility philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with other government agency laws and regulations. They communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitor staff practices and implementation.
