About The Position

Avante at Ocala is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department. The ADON also directs in-service educational programs in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and as directed by the Administrator, helping ensure the highest level of quality care is maintained.

Requirements

Be a Registered Nurse in good standing, meet state requirements, and satisfy all applicable federal and state licensure requirements.
Maintain current CPR certification.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to read and write legibly and understandably.
Speak and understand English.
Have previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other healthcare-related facility.
Be knowledgeable about general, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures, and laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care.
Be able to plan and develop new programs.
Have a positive attitude toward the elderly.
Be willing to seek out methods and principles and incorporate them into existing training practices.
Complete the required background screening through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
