About The Position

Huntsville Health Care Center is seeking an experienced and motivated ADON / Staff Development Coordinator / Infection Preventionist to join our nursing leadership team. This unique leadership role combines clinical oversight, staff education, and infection prevention responsibilities to support quality resident care and regulatory excellence throughout our skilled nursing facility. Requirements

  • Current Texas RN or LVN license in good standing
  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care experience
  • Experience conducting staff education and competency training
  • Strong knowledge of: Infection Prevention & Control, Survey Readiness, CMS Regulations, QAPI, Clinical Documentation
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Current Infection Prevention Certification (IPCO, CIC, IP-BC, or similar)
  • Previous Infection Preventionist experience in a SNF setting
  • Previous Staff Development Coordinator experience
  • Previous ADON, Unit Manager, or Nurse Leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing orientation and onboarding programs
  • Conduct clinical skills validation and competency assessments
  • Develop and facilitate nursing in-services and educational programs
  • Mentor and support nurses, CNAs, and clinical staff
  • Track mandatory education and compliance requirements
  • Assist with nurse retention and professional development initiatives
  • Oversee the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program
  • Monitor, investigate, and track healthcare-associated infections
  • Conduct infection surveillance and trend analysis
  • Educate staff on infection prevention best practices
  • Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations
  • Lead outbreak response efforts and infection control initiatives
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities
  • Support the Director of Nursing with daily clinical operations
  • Assist with staffing oversight and clinical leadership
  • Conduct rounds and support resident care initiatives
  • Assist with survey readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement projects, and performance monitoring
  • Provide leadership support in the absence of the DON
