About The Position

The Infection Control Coordinator is responsible for infection control surveillance, consultation, education, regulatory agency compliance, quality control and quality/performance improvement for Providence Medical Group Northwest. Responsible for planning, developing, directing, implementing, and evaluating the infection prevention program and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements. Collects, reports, and presents statistical information regarding infection control. Maintains an active surveillance program to determine incidents of infections. Facilitates the infection control services of patients, visitors, and staff. Conducts regular rounds in all clinical areas for discussing, monitoring, and following the practices of infection control with staff. Conducts training sessions to ensure constant implementation of infection control policies. Maintains current, evidence-based policies and procedures for infection surveillance and prevention, outbreak investigation, and new regulations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education/experience.
  • Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License.
  • Within 2 years of hire: Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (Facility Managed).
  • 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse including both areas of ambulatory care and acute care nursing.
  • Experience in Infection Control.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or other related healthcare field.
