About The Position

Heather Hill Health Care Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our Staff Development Coordinator / Infection Preventionist (ADON). This is a key clinical leadership role responsible for overseeing staff education, onboarding, competency development, infection prevention initiatives, and regulatory compliance throughout the facility. Requirements

  • Current, active Florida RN license in good standing
  • Infection Prevention Certification (IP-BC, CIC, or equivalent) REQUIRED
  • Previous Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care experience
  • Experience providing staff education and training
  • Strong knowledge of: Infection Prevention & Control
  • Strong knowledge of: CMS Regulations
  • Strong knowledge of: Survey Readiness
  • Strong knowledge of: Clinical Documentation
  • Strong knowledge of: Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Staff Development Coordinator experience
  • Experience leading infection prevention programs in a SNF environment
  • PointClickCare or similar EMR experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate orientation and onboarding programs for nursing staff
  • Develop and conduct clinical education and in-service training programs
  • Monitor and validate nursing competencies and skills
  • Support staff development, coaching, and ongoing education initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements
  • Oversee the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program
  • Monitor, track, investigate, and report infections according to regulatory requirements
  • Conduct surveillance and trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Educate staff on infection prevention practices and regulatory updates
  • Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state infection control regulations
  • Participate in QAPI and performance improvement initiatives
  • Assist with survey readiness and regulatory compliance efforts
  • Support policy development and implementation
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and clinical audits
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to improve resident outcomes
  • Serve in the facility's on-call rotation as assigned
