Assistant Director of Nursing - RN
About The Position
The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care. This includes consultation to medical staff, department heads, and the Administrator. The role involves providing input into the nursing philosophy, establishing departmental goals, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The Assistant Director will also promote positive employee relations, a strong customer service ethic, and ongoing staff education and training. They may exercise direction over the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing and are responsible for the integrity of educational programs and staff development, including identifying employees for leadership advancement.
Requirements
- At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
- Travel as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.
- Currently licensed as RN in state of practice.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the DON in the management of the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care, including consultation to medical staff, department heads, and Administrator in matters related to nursing service.
- Provide input into interpretation of nursing philosophy and assists in establishing departmental goals and objectives.
- Assist the Director of Nursing with regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication strategies with all levels of nursing staff to promote effective care delivery.
- Along with the Director of Nursing, promote positive employee relations, strong customer service ethic and commitment to ongoing staff education and training, May exercise direction over the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Ensure Integrity of educational programs offered within the facility.
