About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) serves as a clinical operational liaison between the units and the Director of Nursing. He/she is responsible for the daily clinical operations of the Nursing Units including ensuring compliance with center policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. Additionally, he/she is responsible for facilitating the implementation of the care delivery model and processes, mentoring staff, coordination and communication with other departments, and ensuring patient and family satisfaction. Requirements

  • Active R.N. license
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience
  • At least one year in a supervisory role
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Clerical ability to analyze reports and data
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (as required by state regulations)

Nice To Haves

  • Long-term care or geriatric experience preferred
  • BSN preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical operational liaison between the units and the Director of Nursing.
  • Responsible for the daily clinical operations of the Nursing Units.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the care delivery model and processes.
  • Mentor staff.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments.
  • Ensure patient and family satisfaction.
  • Assume the duties and responsibilities of the DON in their absence.
  • Support the Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department, including staffing, scheduling, and enforcing policies.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in chart audits.
  • Oversee infection control, care planning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and performance reviews.
  • Promote professional growth and ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality care.
  • MDS oversight and completion of assessments.
