About The Position

West Janisch Health Care Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), RN to join our clinical leadership team. This is a key leadership role within our skilled nursing facility focused on supporting nursing operations, mentoring clinical staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting high-quality resident-centered care. We are looking for a strong nurse leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about supporting both residents and staff.

Requirements

  • Current, active Texas RN license in good standing (required)
  • 3+ years of nursing experience required
  • Strong knowledge of: Clinical operations
  • Strong knowledge of: Regulatory compliance
  • Strong knowledge of: Documentation standards
  • Strong knowledge of: Infection control practices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care

Nice To Haves

  • Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Nursing with day-to-day clinical operations
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff
  • Assist with hiring, scheduling, onboarding, and staff development
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and positive clinical outcomes
  • Conduct daily rounds to monitor resident care and nursing performance
  • Assist with care planning, change-of-condition management, and clinical follow-up
  • Review documentation and complete chart audits to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Participate in QAPI and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support survey readiness and maintain compliance with CMS and state regulations
  • Ensure infection control practices and nursing standards are followed
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and staff education
  • Serve as a resource for residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Support communication between nursing leadership and floor staff
  • Step in for the DON as needed to ensure continuity of operations
