About The Position

The Assistant Director (AD) of Employer Relations, in partnership with the Executive Director of Academic and Career Success, provides leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of employer engagement, including career events designed to enhance student career opportunities. The AD of Employer Relations oversees the Employer Relations team and leads the research, planning, execution, and evaluation of all employer related activities. The AD of Employer Relations also owns the employer recruitment process and strategizes areas of growth and development. They also oversee communication to students and employers regarding recruitment activities and provides input on the design and development of marketing materials, including the employer relations portion of the Career Services website.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling, student affairs, higher education, business management or human resources or related discipline.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience in business development, staffing and recruiting, education, human resources, or related fields.
  • Excellent purchasing systems and computer skills.
  • Ability to lead, facilitate, and present to small and large groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal/human relation skills; able to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and employers.
  • Proficient with various computer applications.
  • To obtain LU-approved driver certification, individuals must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver's license with a minimum of five (5) years of documented driving history, and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including but not limited to academic departments, academic affairs, and development, to create and implement programs and services designed to enhance employer recruiting experiences at Liberty.
  • Lead the Employer Relations Coordinators to create and maintain relationships with employers in every industry, thus bringing employment and internship opportunities to Liberty University students and alumni.
  • Partner with the Executive Director to identify, develop, and disseminate effective career development resources for students, alumni, and employers.
  • Coordinate with faculty and staff to ensure appropriate and efficient delivery of recruiting services.
  • Conducts employer evaluations of services and interviewing experiences.
  • Reviews and acts upon employer evaluations to improve future services.
  • Manage the review and approval process for external companies on Liberty University’s Handshake Network, as well as job posting approvals.
  • Responsible to gather and report relevant and designated analytics to the Executive Director on regular basis.
  • Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.
  • Train, supervise, and coordinate activities of 3 Employer Relations Coordinators.
  • Ensures the Employer Relations Coordinators register employers for recruiting services, answers student and employer inquiries, prepares/finalizes interview schedules, filling vacancies and handling no-shows/late arrivals as required.
