About The Position

Littleton Academy is a residential treatment setting for latency-aged students that specializes in trauma informed care. Littleton provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff. In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our students!

Requirements

  • Must have a Special Education Administrator certification or meet all of the following criteria:
  • M.ED Special Education/ SPED Administration, or currently working towards obtaining one.
  • Must be licensed by the Massachusetts DESE for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a supervisor or administrator.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in Special Education with young adults with emotional disabilities.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Special Administrator certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or treatment program is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in the hiring, supervision, team-teaching as part of supervision, evaluation and training, unit planning, curriculum planning, technology integration, IEP development, development and oversight of Littleton's Education Department.
  • Develop innovative and individualized treatment plans to support students in reaching their clinical and treatment goals.
  • Manage a caseload of students to help them discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and more.
  • Support students in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps.
  • Learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our students.
