Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Assistant Director of Development & Events to help plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising, donor engagement, and community events that support Children Home Society's mission and revenue goals. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in fundraising/event management required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and software utilized by office.
  • Must successfully complete all required background and pre-employment checks EEO/AA.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate special fundraising events.
  • Create and disperse invitations, invitation lists, and promotional materials for events.
  • Assist in preparing spokespersons for media interviews and provide key messages and talking points.
  • Conduct media interviews.
  • Maintain existing sponsorships and vendors for events.
  • Assist with in-kind gifts and acknowledgement of donor stewardship.
  • Maintain complete and accurate donor records, documentation of donor contact and other pertinent information.
  • Ensure proper gift receipting to meet donor needs and comply with IRS Standards.
  • Assist marketing department by providing them with necessary content and specifications of event needs.
  • Work with volunteer coordinators to ensure volunteer needs are met for all events.
