About The Position

The Assistant Director of Counseling & Psychological Services - Embedded Services provides organizational leadership in university mental health initiatives in collaboration with the Director and other members of the CAPS leadership team. Specifically, this position oversees the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of embedded clinical services and sites throughout campus, working to establish strong working partnerships with academic colleges and units. In addition, the Assistant Director guides the vision for ongoing staff development, supervises a team of Counselor Therapist staff, and provides direct clinical services in a limited capacity. Requirements

• Masters degree in social work with “C” or “R” designation (LCSW or LCSW-R) or Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology (PhD or PsyD)
• A minimum of 5 years of work-related experience.
• Licensed in New York State.
• Demonstrated ability to establish new clinical systems and partnerships.
• Experience supervising managing and leading a diverse clinical team as well as supervising the clinical work of others.
• 3 years of clinical supervision experience.
• Exceptional experience in and/demonstrated commitment to supporting access, belonging, and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills and the ability to speak to a wide range of audiences and communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, identities, and life experiences.
• Strong commitment to collaborative work and demonstrated success working with colleagues and other campus partners with varying work styles.
• Demonstrates sound clinical judgment.
• Enjoys working collaboratively with professionals throughout Cornell Health and the campus community, is a self-starter and enjoys thinking creatively toward innovative problem-solving and partnerships.
• Ability to lead, define, and assess the scope of clinical services that support the mission and vision of CAPS, Cornell Health, Student and Campus life, and Cornell University.
