The Assistant Director of Clinical Services plays a crucial role in establishing and evaluating goals for hospice services to ensure quality patient care aligned with the company's mission. This role involves assisting in the direction of nursing operations, supervising clinical staff, supporting quality improvement initiatives, assessing patient care delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes. The Assistant Director works closely with the Director of Clinical Services and organizational leadership to manage nursing operations, foster staff development, resolve patient care issues, and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, referral partners, and healthcare facilities within the service area. The position requires leadership and clinical support across the Ringgold and Trenton territories, with flexibility for coverage needs throughout the service area.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Georgia.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience required.
  • Knowledge of terminally ill patients and their families, hospice philosophy, palliative care services, community resources, documentation requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, accreditation standards, and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • CPR Certification through the American Heart Association required.
  • Current automobile insurance and valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to effectively utilize computers, mobile devices, copier, scanner, and other office equipment.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other healthcare software systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage emotional situations with professionalism and compassion.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds.

  • Hospice or palliative care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that promote quality patient care and support the mission and philosophy of Tapestry Hospice & Palliative Care.
  • Assists in directing nursing operations.
