About The Position

The Assistant Director is responsible for the daily management and representation of the Mortara Center. This includes outreach and development, event management, and program and budget administration. The role also involves promoting the Center’s extensive and varied activities with a consistent and effective message to the Georgetown University campus, the Washington D.C. community, and beyond. The Assistant Director reports to the Mortara Director and supervises all center operations and student employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least 3 years of closely related professional experience in program administration and event planning, preferably in higher education
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Capacity to interact effectively with a diverse community, including students, faculty, staff, university administrators, donors, and media
  • Proficiency in technologies related to the functions of the position
  • Must develop proficiency in the Workday Financials system

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as international affairs
