The Assistant Director, Human Resources is responsible for the planning, administration, and directing of operations, programs, and policies for all UHS human resources functions. This includes managing recruitment, selection and hiring processes, compensation, classification, employee succession planning and management development, employee relations and conflict resolution, payroll and travel functions, onboarding and offboarding processes, development and implementation of HR policies, and management of personnel files. This position provides collaborative and consultative advice and counsel to UHS executive leadership, and Student Life Division Human Resources Partners Group on various aspects of human resources and payroll management matters. This position serves as a resource on the SEIU and UO Student Worker Union collective bargaining agreements, personnel rules interpretation, use, and compliance, and best practices with HR policies and practices. The Assistant Director, Human Resources, serves as a key link between the UHS, Student Life Division, UO Human Resources, UKG Payroll Administrators, and other related departments and professional groups on campus. This position reports to the UHS Director of Finance & Business Operations, is a member of the UHS Leadership Team, and is responsible for supervising UHS administrative staff members. Due to our clinical environment, this position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists. Employee loses eligibility for employment if on the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and/or System of Award Management (SAM). In addition, employee must be in compliance with UHS policies regarding tuberculosis screening, measles and mumps (MMR), seasonal flu, hepatitis B, and other immunization requirements.
