Assistant Director Health Information Management
About The Position
The Assistant Director of Health Information (HI) is responsible for supporting the overall management, administration, and operations of health information services within the organization. This role involves overseeing the maintenance and organization of health records, overseeing coding operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, managing HI staff, and implementing efficient workflows for the acquisition, processing, storage, and retrieval of health information. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of HI to optimize systems, improve efficiency, and maintain the confidentiality and security of all healthcare data.
Requirements
- Masters of Science Degree in Health Information Management or a closely related field
- Five to seven years of previous work related experience
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator
- Registration as a Registered Health Information Technician
- Strong analytic, organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer skills, working with Microsoft Office
- Critical thinking and multi-tasking
- Medical Terminology
- Strong communication skills necessary to work with physicians
