About The Position

Assumption University seeks an Assistant Director for Clinical and Community Partnerships to lead development, integration, and advancement of experiential learning across program tracks in the Froelich School of Nursing. This role is suited for an academic leader who understands the complexities of clinical learning within and across health systems, focusing on bridging classroom theory with hands-on simulation and real-world clinical experience to strengthen student outcomes while meeting CCNE accreditation standards and Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing regulations. The Assistant Director will oversee all facets of experiential learning including in direct care learning and community-based care learning, while also working closely with the Clinical Learning Suite coordinator to further develop assessment and evaluation strategies. This includes instructional design and compliance with simulation learning environment and skills lab operations. The Assistant Director will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with hospital systems, clinical sites, and industry partners while also working closely with the dean and program director to streamline scheduling processes to optimize cohort schedules. This role is central to aligning education with practice, ensuring graduates enter the workforce clinically prepared and confident. By expanding clinical networks and strengthening simulation capacity, this leader will be instrumental in shaping student competency, program quality, and institutional reputation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • RN licensure, Massachusetts, Unencumbered
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in academic or clinical leadership roles, including experiential learning management.
  • Demonstrated success in developing hospital or healthcare partnerships and advancing experiential education.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with a proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of experiential learning including in patient care, community-based care and simulation education across nursing program tracks.
  • Manage experiential learning staff including the clinical placement coordinator, while working closely with CLS coordinator and simulation technician.
  • Manage and organize budget for all components of experiential learning including, usage of clinical instructors, equipment and maintenance, and supplies ensuring alignment with budgetary, institutional and accreditor requirements.
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate experiential learning into curricula and measure program level and competency-based learning outcomes.
  • Work closely with clinical placement coordinator to develop, negotiate, and maintain clinical affiliation agreements with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare systems.
  • Ensure that all clinical and community partnerships and CLS activities support student placement needs, compliance requirements, and workforce readiness goals.
  • Develop, oversee, and execute clinical instructor, staff and student orientations and trainings.
