About The Position

This role serves as a strategic advisor to SME leaders and stakeholders, focusing on performance, and learning and development design and needs. The position drives annual business planning for the advisor development experience, including the development and measurement of OKRs and KPIs. It involves developing, monitoring, and adjusting multi-year delivery and innovative roadmaps, establishing measurement strategies aligned with enterprise priorities and business objectives, and gathering data and insights to inform approaches and demonstrate value. The role also establishes and monitors standards, frameworks, and methodologies to ensure curriculum programs maintain high quality, consistency, and alignment with the NMU vision. Additionally, it integrates and embeds AI-driven solutions in curriculum delivery and management, evaluates vendor relationships for buy/build/rent strategies, and contributes curriculum architecture to governance processes. The Assistant Director monitors emerging innovations in curriculum design, learning experiences, and delivery models, applies adult and modern learner theory, and leads principles for curriculum co-creation and performance consulting. The role involves leading, coaching, and developing a team of learning, curriculum, and performance consulting professionals, assessing team capabilities, and fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, accountability, and psychological safety.

Requirements

  • Degree/background/certifications in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Education, Business, AI in learning, workflow learning
  • Experience in learning strategy, performance consulting
  • Experience managing large contract vendors, including sourcing, negotiating, and ongoing relationship management
  • 10+ years of experience in learning strategy, curriculum design, and/or performance consulting
  • Creating operating models, in which the team can deliver value and operate
  • Experience leading teams of learning, curriculum, or performance consulting professionals
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and SMEs to design enterprise learning solutions
  • Demonstrated success leading/delivering multi-year learning roadmaps and enterprise-level initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Serve as strategic advisor to SME leaders and stakeholders, consulting on performance, and learning and development design and needs.
  • Drive annual business planning, on behalf of advisor development experience, including development and measurement of OKRs and KPIs.
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust multi-year delivery and innovative roadmaps.
  • Establish a measurement strategy, anchored to enterprise priorities and business objectives.
  • Gather NM data and NM/External insights to inform approach and demonstrate value.
  • Establish and monitor standards, frameworks, and methodologies to ensure curriculum programs maintain high quality, consistency and alignment with NMU vision.
  • Integrate and embed AI-driven solutions in both curriculum delivery and management.
  • Stay current, source and evaluate vendor relationships to inform buy/build/rent strategy (industry and discipline), and ongoing management.
  • Contribute curriculum architecture and standards to governance processes and systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging and modernized innovations in curriculum design, learning experiences, and deliver models that improve learner experience.
  • Apply adult and modern learner theory and principles to learner experience architecture and design.
  • Deliver and lead principles for curriculum co-creation and performance consulting, enabling team to consult effectively with business and field partners.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of learning, curriculum, and performance consulting professionals.
  • Assess team capabilities and skill gaps; create targeted development plans to build future-ready skills.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation (AI), accountability, and psychological safety.
