About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Assistant Director plays a key role in advancing regional programming within the Development and Alumni Engagement division. This position leads the planning, execution, and on-site support of chapter events for alumni, donors, students and parents nationwide. Serving as the main liaison for chapter leaders, the Assistant Director helps establish new chapters and strengthens existing ones, ensuring alignment and consistency in event strategy, budgeting and resource support.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or two years of professional experience in a related field.
Strategic thinker who is also detail- and goal-oriented.
Proven ability to build relationships and work as a team with a wide variety of university constituencies.
Ability to meet deadlines, work independently under pressure, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
High energy, self-motivated professional.
Strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and the expression of these values in building community.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

Research best practices from other institutions on the building and maintenance of alumni regional chapters.
Serve as the primary point of contact for chapter leaders, providing guidance, support, training and resources.
Facilitate regular communication among the alumni chapters and the university.
Support the development and launch of new alumni chapters in strategic regions with significant alumni populations.
Work with the Director of Alumni Engagement and others to set expectations and goals for chapters that align with institutional goals.
Plan, execute and attend regional chapter events and programs nationwide that provide value, build a sense of alumni pride and foster relationships and community.
Establish and maintain consistency across chapters in event planning, budgeting and operational practices.
Oversee resource distribution to ensure chapters have the tools needed for successful programming.
Collaborate with internal teams within Development and Alumni Engagement to align regional efforts with broader engagement strategies.
Work with the Assistant Director of Programming to pull invite lists for events, create RSVP forms and report attendance data to event hosts and participating staff.
Work with the Chapter Exploration Committee on the Alumni Board to maintain communication and share outcomes.
Maintain regular communication with development officers regarding upcoming events and associated cultivation and engagement opportunities for key prospects.
Work with chapter leads, Admissions and Development staff to identify current or incoming parents and legacy families for further engagement and service.
Partner closely with colleagues in Career Success, Admissions and Corporate Relations to strategically support regional recruitment and career engagement initiatives, integrating their goals into regional chapter programming.
