About The Position

The Assistant Dietary Manager assists the Dietary Supervisor with planning, organizing, and developing the dietary department in accordance with applicable state, federal, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role helps ensure daily delivery of quality nutritional services and that the department is kept clean, safe, and sanitary. The position is located in Battle Creek, Michigan, and is full time.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of related experience in a food service department.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with residents, physicians, visitors, and facility personnel.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a long-term care or health care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the dietitian to provide quality nutritional services.
• Ensure appropriate levels of food supplies are available.
• Order supplies as needed in a cost-effective and cost-efficient manner.
• Ensure equipment is maintained appropriately and, with the Administrator, order replacement equipment as necessary.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the department budget.
• Help maintain the dietary department in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
