About The Position
The Assistant Designer supports the Design team throughout the seasonal design and product development process, from initial concept through production. The role assists with seasonal woven and knit styles across categories including tops, blouses, shirts, dresses, skirts, pants, sweaters, and other sportswear. It prepares and maintains design packages and development materials, researches trends and sources seasonal materials, and coordinates with overseas factories and cross-functional partners to help meet seasonal deadlines. The position also supports design reviews and line presentations and maintains design libraries and sample information.
Responsibilities
- Support the Design team throughout seasonal design and product development, from initial concept through production.
- Complete design packages, including technical sketches, tech packs, line sheets, and other development materials.
- Prepare and maintain detailed tech packs and keep design information accurate and up to date throughout development.
- Assist with developing seasonal woven and knit styles across sportswear categories, including tops, blouses, shirts, dresses, skirts, pants, and sweaters.
- Submit, track, and organize artwork, strike-offs, lab dips, trims, fabric approvals, and other development materials.
- Research seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, trims, colors, and design details relevant to the brand's aesthetic and target customer.
- Assist in sourcing and organizing fabrics, trims, yarns, and seasonal inspiration for woven and knit collections.
- Organize and maintain artwork, fabric worksheets, finalized tech packs, line lists, and sample information.
- Communicate with overseas factories and cross-functional partners to support timely and accurate product development.
- Manage assigned responsibilities against the Time and Action Calendar to meet seasonal deadlines.
- Prepare presentation materials and support seasonal design reviews and line presentations.
- Maintain fabric, yarn, and trim libraries and assist with sample tracking, organization, and preparation.
