About The Position

This position is responsible for training and developing Product Sales Specialists and ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience through exceptional customer service and product information. The role provides direction to product sales specialists and helps maintain the department’s merchandising, pricing, organization, inventory, and customer service standards.

The position works in a warehouse environment where moving vehicles are present and noise is typically moderate to noisy. The employee frequently stands, walks, reaches, climbs or balances, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The role also requires handling or feeling objects and the ability to exert specified levels of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of customer service or sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, and greater than negligible up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner consistent with the company’s core values.
• Follow and demonstrate compliance with company safe-lifting practices and standard operating procedures.
• Understand and teach the company’s basic retail principles, including People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, and Purchasing.
• Direct Product Sales Specialists to ensure attentive and accurate customer service.
• Complete all product specialist certification courses.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of merchandise and installation.
• Ensure the department’s merchandising, pricing, and organization.
• Communicate standard operating procedure directions and changes to associates in a timely manner.
• Complete Industrial Truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Direct and assist with processing merchandise to the showroom floor.
• Validate product placement and pricing within the department.
• Greet customers helpfully and courteously and assist with product questions and selections.
• Process customer purchases at checkout using the point-of-sale system.
• Process refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines.
• Present how-to classes to customers.
• Follow cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures.
• Answer the telephone according to accepted guidelines.
• Stock and tag merchandise displays as required.
• Create price tags and merchandise signs.
