About The Position

Reporting to the Dean, the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management leads the Office of Enrollment Management for the school with a focus on leadership and direction for student recruitment and admissions. This position has the overall responsibility, in consultation with the dean, for the development, coordination, and implementation of enrollment management strategies based upon quantitative analysis and strategic decision-making that supports the School's mission, strategic priorities, and financial sustainability while promoting student success and diversity. The Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management will provide visionary strategic leadership and management to the enrollment management process that includes recruitment, admissions, enrollment, scholarships, and marketing. The Assistant Dean will have a comprehensive understanding of the school’s programs as well as market segments and be able to accurately and persuasively represent and market academic programs to prospective students and other stakeholders. In addition, the Assistant Dean will oversee and coordinate admissions operations, recruitment initiatives, enrollment analytics, scholarship strategy, and prospective student communication. The Assistant Dean will work collaboratively with academic affairs, academic departments, faculty, marketing, student affairs, financial aid, and university enrollment leadership. The Assistant Dean is responsible for achieving enrollment goals across master's (including accelerate bachelor’s to masters and dual-degree programs), doctoral, certificate, residential, and online programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in higher educational administration, student development, student personnel or related field from an accredited institution and five or more years of relevant experience in enrollment management and higher education administration and experience in supervising staff.
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree in higher educational administration, student development, student personnel or related field from an accredited institution and eight or more years of relevant experience in enrollment management and higher education administration and experience supervising staff.
  • Experience with enrollment forecasting, tuition discounting, scholarship optimization, and predictive analytics.
  • Demonstrated commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision making.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of graduate and professional admissions, enrollment management principles, strategic recruitment, and student enrollment best practices.
  • Knowledge of higher education policies, admissions regulations, FERPA, financial aid, and applicable federal, state, and institutional requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic enrollment management initiatives that support institutional goals.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to assess the effectiveness of recruitment, admissions, scholarship, and enrollment initiatives and implement continuous process improvements.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish collaborative relationships across academic departments, university offices, and external organizations to support enrollment goals.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage prospective students and families in a professional, responsive, and student-centered manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment, with experience recruiting and supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and resolve complex or sensitive situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Experience developing operational policies, procedures, and workflows that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and the overall admissions experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis, and experience using database and reporting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of graduate public health education, a public health degree, or experience in public health
  • Demonstrated experience working in a graduate or professional school environment
  • Advanced degree related to organizational management, such as Master of Education, Master of Business Administration, or Master of Public Administration
  • Experience with Slate CRM, Banner, SOPHAS, or comparable enrollment management systems.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to interpret enrollment data, identify trends, develop forecasts, and make data-informed recommendations.
  • Knowledge of enrollment technologies, including customer relationship management (CRM) systems, student information systems, admissions application platforms, and data visualization/reporting tools.
