About The Position

The Rockingham Aquatic Centre is a seasonal facility open to the public from mid-August to mid-April, located on Council Avenue in Rockingham. This position acts as a full-time duty supervisor over summer and requires availability for shifts on mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. During the summer, the facility is well-patronized by the local Rockingham community due to its extensive landscaped gardens and shady grassed areas. The role requires someone with experience in leading teams and activating aquatic areas, who enjoys interacting with members, patrons, staff, and the wider community to create a safe and fun environment. The ideal candidate possesses detailed knowledge of aquatic emergency and evacuation procedures, experience with life support equipment, and the ability to remain calm during stressful situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Experience in a leadership position in an Aquatic Facility within a Local Government setting.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in managing plant rooms, water balance, emergency evacuation, safe handling and storage of chemicals.
  • Experience planning, promoting and executing events and activities for the community.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing customer relationships with members, patrons, schools, clubs and external groups.
  • Current Pool Operators Certificate.
  • LIWA Accreditation.
  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
  • Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus and Chlorine Gas Handling Training.
  • Up to date Provide First Aid Certificate.
  • Ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.

Benefits

  • Gross annual salary of $94,367 plus superannuation.
