About The Position

The Production & Utility employee reports directly to the Kitchen Manager and is responsible for the duties so assigned by the Manager. This role is part of the Food and Nutrition Department and falls under the Union of Grand Rapids Education Support Personnel (UGRESP) bargaining unit. The wage is according to the collective bargaining agreement. The mission of GRPS is to ensure that all scholars are educated, self-directed and productive members of society.

Requirements

• Food service production experience or the ability to learn.
• Willingness to be trained in all areas of food production.
• Must have knowledge of, or be willing to learn, proper sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Consistently demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.
• Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with Departmental Uniform and Personal Hygiene guidelines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both scholars and staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Individual with limited English skills is encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all areas of production, serving and cleanup.
• May perform cashiering duties during lunch.
• Interact with co-workers, administration, scholars, parents, and the community in positive, supportive, and cooperative ways.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
