About The Position

Buckeye Union School District is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cafeteria Assistant to join their Food Services team. This part-time role, working 2.5 hours per day during the school year, is crucial in ensuring students receive healthy meals in a clean and welcoming cafeteria setting. The position involves assisting in meal preparation, serving, and clean-up, while upholding food safety standards and maintaining a positive environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and serving of daily meals, including breakfast and lunch
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cafeteria and kitchen areas
Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, and food warmers
Monitor and restock food and supply inventory as needed
Support the cashier during meal times, including handling money and maintaining accurate records
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other team members
