About The Position

The Assistant Controller supports Kokosing’s corporate and operational accounting functions and partners closely with the Controller and finance leadership. The role helps ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient close processes. It also contributes to accounting operations, consolidation and reporting activities, and consistency across business units.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five to eight years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of financial close processes, reconciliations, financial systems, and U.S. GAAP.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Process improvement mindset focused on scalability and efficiency.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• Public accounting experience.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, or multi-entity environments.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.
• Partner with business unit finance teams to promote consistent accounting practices across the organization.
• Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Support budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with FP&A and operational teams.
• Drive process improvements in accounting operations, systems, and reporting workflows.
• Participate in finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations and standardization efforts.
