About The Position

ProspectBlue is partnering with a growing organization in the healthcare industry to hire an experienced Assistant Controller for its accounting and finance team. This hands-on role supports day-to-day accounting operations and contributes to the organization’s financial health. It is suited to an experienced Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager ready to advance their career. The ideal candidate has a strong technical accounting foundation, corporate accounting experience, and a public accounting background, preferably Big 4, along with a CPA.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

• CPA strongly preferred.
• Big 4 public accounting experience highly desirable.
• Corporate accounting experience, ideally within a mid-sized or larger organization.
• Experience with SAP is a plus.
• Prior experience overseeing or mentoring accounting staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and management reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
• Help maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies.
• Provide guidance and oversight to the Accounts Payable Specialist, who reports directly to this position.
• Partner with the Controller and other finance team members on accounting initiatives and special projects.
