About The Position

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our Finance Team! Our Assistant Controller oversees the financial and accounting operations of Agrifoods International’s Dairy division and is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly financial statements. The AC also prepares financial statements the subsidiaries and liaises with their accounting teams. Other duties include evaluating and maintaining internal control and ,assisting with the budgeting process. The main challenge is to oversees all accounting functions including: payables, receivables, cash flow, payroll and statutory compliance. Requirements

  • You have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • You demonstrate written and oral communication skills
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills with customer service orientation
  • You have good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • You have a CPA designation or are in thesenior level of CPA program
  • You have 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position; accounting experience as a senior accountant or Assistant Controller
  • You have Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Software implementation or upgrade experience
  • Understanding of inventory management challenges

Responsibilities

  • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
  • Provide weekly sales and plant performance reports and participate in meetings with production teams
  • Estimate new and proposed product costs
  • Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
  • Prepare reports and submit to Milk Utilization Reporting system for Dairy Farmers of Ontario and BC Milk Marketing Board
  • Do monthly Balance Sheet and other account reconciliations
  • Lead and support AR and AP Team
