About The Position

The Controller I will provide high-level support to the Vice President of Accounting for the management of Gentex’s accounting and financial activities with responsibilities focused one of the following functional areas: General Accounting, Operations, or Financial Reporting. This is an onsite position located in Holland, MI. It is not open to hybrid or remote work at this time.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or other related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Account, Assistant Controller, or equivalent role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • 1-3 years of Leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA)
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee designated functional area to develop and execute strategies to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
  • Review and monitor designated functional area accounts and reconciliations.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
  • Develop reports for management and regulatory bodies based on functional area of responsibility.
  • Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
