About The Position

The Assistant Contract Manager supports the Program Manager in the overall management, administration, and execution of warehouse and logistics operations. The position is responsible for assisting with inventory management, receiving, storage, order fulfillment, transportation coordination, quality assurance, customer service, compliance, staffing, and operational reporting. The Assistant Contract Manager ensures contract requirements, performance standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations are consistently achieved.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of warehouse, logistics, supply chain, or contract operations experience is required.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics processes.
  • Understanding of contract administration and performance management.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and develop corrective actions.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support peak National Guard training cycles and weekend drill surges.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of warehouse operations.
  • Support execution of Performance Work Statement (PWS), Statement of Work (SOW), and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and distribution activities.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes.
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and training warehouse employees.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and performance feedback to supervisors and staff.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the warehouse.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and accident investigations.
  • Monitor contract performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor warehouse layout, space utilization, and material flow efficiency.
  • Serve as acting Project Manager in their absence.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Address customer concerns and operational issues promptly.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Review invoices, receiving documentation, delivery records, and inventory reports.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
