About The Position

Brigil is seeking an Assistant Controller, Construction and Development. Reporting to the Financial Controller, Construction and Development, the incumbent will assist their supervisor with a variety of tasks related to accounting and operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, with knowledge of the construction industry
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and/or Yardi Voyager
  • Ability to work in an environment with multiple companies and projects
  • Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), Excise Tax Act, and Income Tax Act
  • Excellent command of French and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
  • Manage intercompany accounts and document discrepancies
  • Manage work in progress and fixed assets
  • Account for and analyze bank debts and interest
  • Assist the controller in the internal and external audit process
  • Collaborate in the preparation of financial report presentations
  • Analyze financial statements for multiple companies and projects
  • Prepare and perform year-end entries
  • Execute and ensure the application of departmental procedures
  • Document and maintain updated various financial and operational files
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes for internal processes and controls
  • Collaborate with various departments to optimize administrative and financial practices
