About The Position

As a Assistant Construction Manager, supporting our Construction Services business unit, for a National Banking Client for their new Relocation and Renovation of their Investor Center, you will be is responsible for supporting the Construction Manager in the safe, timely, profitable, and compliant delivery of construction projects. This role assists with project coordination, budget transfer, buyout, contract administration, scheduling, site visits, safety oversight, reporting, quality control, and client satisfaction. The Assistant Construction Manager will support projects across markets that may include retail, restaurants, battery, energy generation, solar, and EV charging, while coordinating with internal construction, estimating, project management, engineering, architecture, and design professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in construction management, project coordination, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Construction Manager or in a similar construction project support role preferred.
  • Experience with short-term projects of approximately $1.5 million or smaller preferred.
  • Familiarity with local codes, ordinances, construction documentation, project schedules, and contract requirements preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Ability to review and work with project schedules, reports, contracts, change documentation, margin analyses, and construction-related project records.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with construction, estimating, project management, engineering, architecture, and field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Construction Manager in monitoring project compliance with company policies, contract documents, project reporting requirements, safety expectations, quality standards, and budget objectives.
  • Assist with accepting projects from estimating at budget transfer and help coordinate a complete handoff into construction execution.
  • Support the buyout process in a timely and cost-effective manner while helping meet company, project, and minority participation requirements.
  • Assist with review, coordination, and administration of construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and related project documentation.
  • Support the contract change process by helping track, review, and coordinate change-related documentation.
  • Assist with assigning project teams based on project needs, team member experience, and company performance objectives.
  • Review margin analyses, project financial information, and related reporting to help identify risks, mitigate potential losses, and support project profitability.
  • Review project schedules and weekly narratives to help confirm progress toward on-time completion.
  • Visit project sites on a scheduled and regular basis to stay informed on construction activity, project conditions, safety practices, and field progress.
  • Support safety program review by monitoring training, procedures, project safety trends, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with accident reviews and root-cause investigations, as directed.
  • Elevate and coordinate construction-related legal matters with the appropriate project leadership.
  • Support customer satisfaction by helping maintain clear communication, timely follow-through, and consistent project execution.
  • Coordinate with Construction Coordinators, Estimators, Project Managers, MEP Engineers, Structural Engineers, Site/Civil Engineers, Architects, and other construction professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
