About The Position

Mercer University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach. Women’s Lacrosse at Mercer University is an NCAA Division I sport and member of the Southern Conference. This is a full-time, 12-month position with full benefits.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college.
Some prior coaching experience.
Ability to evaluate, recruit, teach, motivate, and mentor quality student-athletes.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, and other members of the university community.
Ability to articulate the values of a Mercer education and the role intercollegiate athletics plays in the development of student-athletes.
Strong leadership qualities.
Enthusiastic personality.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules in relation to women’s lacrosse.
NCAA Recruiting test which allows coach to recruit off campus.
Knowledge to identify prospective student athletes who can be successful in a rigorous academic and athletic environment.
Proven ability to communicate with college and high school students.

Nice To Haves

Division I coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Helping to develop a Division I Intercollegiate Lacrosse program.
Player development and evaluation.
Scouting/film analysis.
Fundraising.
Monitoring of student athlete’s academic progress and compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
Assist with daily office operations.
Assist with team equipment and team travel.
