About The Position

The Assistant Coach, Women's Ice Hockey instructs and teaches athletes in the fundamentals of ice hockey, coaching technique and strategy. This role assists in the selection of team members and recruiting activities in compliance with conference, NCAA, and OSU rules and regulations. The Assistant Coach also aids the head coach in coordinating administrative areas of program management, including scheduling of competitions and practices, travel plans, equipment, and serving as a liaison to strength and conditioning, and assisting with sports marketing. Additionally, this position monitors the academic progress of student athletes, audits information from academic support services, and ensures compliance with conference, NCAA, and University rules and regulations. This role operates within a creative and collaborative team environment that embraces change and encourages innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Level Degree with a Major in education or physical education
  • Coaching experience and extensive knowledge of the sport of ice hockey.
  • Extensive travel during recruiting process.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge and experience working with NCAA rules and regulations
  • Experience working with a diverse population
  • 3+ years of college coaching experience
  • Experience with XOS software

Responsibilities
