About The Position

The Assistant Women's Ice Hockey Coach assists the Head Women's Ice Hockey Coach with all aspects of running the Women's Ice Hockey Program. In addition, the assistant will teach the PE program and assist with administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Experience coaching and/or playing at the intercollegiate level is required.
  • Evening, morning and weekend work is necessary.
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of/ability to teach the sport
  • Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach in performing all of the functions necessary to manage and direct the program.
  • Be accessible to and approachable by our students, communicating effectively with our students, recruiting (identifying, cultivating and yielding) prospective student-athletes, Teaching and coaching the sport, managing the roster, planning, scheduling and reserving space for all team activity (practices, games, workouts and meetings), team travel (itinerary, meals, hotels and transportation) Monitoring academic and social activity of student-athletes, communicating with parents and alumni Selection and purchasing of equipment and uniforms.
  • Strict adherence to and complete understanding of NESCAC and NCAA rules is essential.
  • Teach in the Physical Education Program.
  • Assist the department with administrative tasks as needed
