About The Position

The Assistant Coach for Women’s Field Hockey assists the Head Coach in the planning and operation of the women’s field hockey program at Cornell University. This includes assisting with practice and games, preparation as assigned, and providing input on player evaluation and other decisions concerning team operations. In addition, the Assistant Coach will actively support the scouting of opponents and the breakdown of our own performances. The Assistant Coach also has both on- and off-campus recruiting responsibilities, to identify, encourage and evaluate application and acceptance of student athletes at Cornell in accordance with the Ivy League, NCAA and University policies as assigned by the head coach. The Assistant Coach will play a key role in the development of our program culture and identity. This is a 12-month per year, full-time position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Credentials should reflect proven success in coaching, recruiting, and working with student athletes.
  • Knowledgeable of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Must be highly motivated with an outstanding work ethic and a relentless recruiter.
  • Level 2 Hockey Coaching Qualification.
  • Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.
  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of collegiate coaching experience, especially in NCAA Division I.
  • International coaching and/or playing experience.
  • Proven track record of using SportsCode, Polar Team Pro and the Apple EcoSystem.
