About The Position

The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Field Hockey Coach. This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 250 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent)
One to three years of field hockey coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level or equivalent international / professional club level
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Demonstrated success in recruiting elite level prospective student-athletes
Excellent oral and written communication skills, as demonstrated through public speaking, clinician experience, and/or use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques
Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships
A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards
Utilize basic office support software (word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets)
Operate effectively within a highly regulated team environment

Nice To Haves

National Squad or elite level playing experience
Experience with Sportscode, Hudl and/or Spiideo software
Experience in the development and management of social media

Responsibilities

The Assistant Coach is responsible for providing administrative, instructional and coaching assistance to the Head Coach with the purpose of building a successful, competitive intercollegiate sports program that also retains and graduates student-athletes.
