About The Position

Maryville University is seeking a motivated, energetic, and committed Assistant Field Hockey Coach to support all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division II field hockey program. This position will assist the head coach in recruiting, player development, practice planning, and program operations while fostering a positive student-athlete experience aligned with the university’s mission.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to teach and develop technical and tactical field hockey skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Nice To Haves

• Professional experience in the field hockey industry or relevant certifications.
• Experience with innovative coaching methods and technology-enhanced learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and game strategies.
• Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes in alignment with NCAA Division II regulations.
• Provide mentorship and support to student-athletes to enhance their athletic, academic, and personal development.
• Assist with program operations, including scheduling, travel logistics, and equipment management.
• Support program marketing, community outreach, and fundraising initiatives.
• Collaborate with athletics staff to ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies.
