Assistant Field Hockey Coach

About The Position
Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Women’s Field Hockey Coach, this position is responsible for assisting in all facets of our field hockey program. In addition to field hockey skills and tactics teaching/coaching, duties include development of student-athletes and recruitment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- One to three years of field hockey playing or coaching experience at an NCAA sponsored institution.
- Member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certified preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the athletic development of student-athletes within the field hockey program.
- Individual, small group and team skills training
- Individual, small group and team tactics teaching/coaching
- Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the academic success of student-athletes within the field hockey program.
- Meets with student-athletes individually to insure academic accountability
- Provides counsel to help student-athletes navigate the rigors of collegiate academic work
- Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus support services available
- Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the personal growth of student-athletes within the field hockey program.
- Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus student-health support services available
- Meets with student-athletes on an as needed basis
- Assists the head coach in executing an active college community relations program leading to the positive promotion of the field hockey program and its student athletes.
- Represents the Department and Division in the College Community, developing relationships conducive to program and departmental success.
- Participates in our efforts to recruit qualified student-athletes for the field hockey program.
- Serves as a manager for selected athletic events.
- Carries out other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
