About The Position

The Williams College Nordic Ski Team is searching for an energetic and organized Assistant Coach to join our successful NCAA program! We're looking for someone with a strong competitive background who excels at building relationships and is eager to contribute to all aspects of our program, from on-snow technique to recruiting. We are now accepting applications for the role of Assistant Coach of Nordic Skiing. This is a 40 hour per week, 10-month position with a full meal plan and a benefit package spread over 12 months, and also provides full tuition-remission of graduate school after six months of employment. Williams is a Division III institution and a member of the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) and New England Small College Athletics Conference (NESCAC). Williams Skiing has a long history of success including NCAA qualifiers and All-EISA skiers. With an energetic Nordic skiing community throughout the Northern Berkshires and Southern Vermont, Williams provides the ideal place for an intercollegiate Nordic ski team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • Competitive Nordic Skiing experience required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of coaching experience preferred
  • USSS L100 Coaching Certification or ability to obtain required
  • Knowledge of NESCAC and NCAA Division III policies and ability to abide by these
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively required
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check is also a condition of employment in order to be able to drive college vehicles and/or transport students.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the head coach in the planning and execution of training sessions and technique development in both dryland and winter training
  • Working with student-athletes at training and competitions to compete at their highest level
  • Prepare athletes skis for competitions both by testing and applying wax
  • Managing the recruiting database
  • Assisting with the identification and recruitment of qualified student athletes who can succeed in the challenging academic environment at Williams
  • Managing and developing social media presence
  • Other duties as assigned
