About The Position
This position is for an Assistant Coach for Boys Basketball at Gateway High School. It is an exempt position.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or equivalent.
- Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
- Background check and fingerprinting as required by district policy.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a head coach.
- College playing or coaching experience.
- Teaching certification.
- Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish).
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in all aspects of the boys' basketball program.
- Develop and implement training programs for student-athletes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and league rules and regulations.
- Promote sportsmanship and positive character development.
- Assist with game preparation and strategy.
- Contribute to a positive team environment.
