About The Position

Coventry High School is seeking an Assistant Coach for Boys Basketball, specifically for the Freshman Head Coach position. This is a one-year, renewable position. The role involves the day-to-day running of drills and conditioning during practices and games. The coach must possess knowledge of Interscholastic League rules and regulations, as well as the skills and techniques of basketball, with the ability to teach them effectively. Requirements

• CPR/First Aid/AED Certified
• Completed the NFHS Concussion Course
• Submit a National BCI with fingerprints to Human Resource prior to starting

Nice To Haves

• 5 years coaching at the Middle school level or higher preferred
• Knowledge of rules and regulations of Interscholastic League play
• Knowledge of the skills and techniques of the sport

Responsibilities

• Day to day running of drills and conditioning at practices and games
• Teach skills and techniques of basketball
• Impart to youthful athletes a sense of achievement essential to the enjoyment of the sport
