Requirements

  • Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in NY.
  • Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process.
  • Implements the Nursing Service standards of care and practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served and the areas of clinical practice.
  • Utilizes the nursing process in the systematic assessment and formulation of individualized plans of care to meet patient needs.
  • Exhibits critical thinking in the assessment, planning, prioritization, delivery, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Documents data collection and assessments, plans of care interventions and patient responses per policy.
  • Identifies individualized patient/significant other learning needs and implements appropriate measures to meet needs.
  • Provides patient/significant other instruction in accordance with established standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge, respect, and sensitivity of patient's rights.
  • Serves as a patient advocate.
  • Assures confidentiality of patient information.
  • Collaborates with other health care disciplines to coordinate patient care activities and discharge plans.
  • Assists Medical Providers with office-based procedures, vaccinations, injections, etc. if required.
  • Assists Medical Providers with patient communication as directed.
  • Assists Medical Providers, Clinical Staff with patient care as needed.
  • Maintains effective and timely communication and cooperative working relationships with both clinical and non-clinical members of the interdisciplinary team and with personnel from other departments.
  • Coordinates, directs and supervises patient care activities, delegates tasks appropriately and accepts the accountability for her/his professional role.
