About The Position

The Orien Levy Woolf Division of Social Work at Texas Woman's University (TWU) invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position (non-tenure-track), starting in Fall 2026. This position is based at the Denton campus, conveniently located 40 miles north of the bustling Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Division, offering both bachelor's and master's degrees in Social Work, is part of the School of Social Work, Psychology, and Philosophy within the College of Arts and Sciences. TWU holds a distinguished place in higher education as the nation's largest public university primarily for women, founded in 1901. It champions a robust liberal arts and sciences education alongside specialized and professional programs in business, nursing, health sciences, social sciences, and education. This position is designed for a candidate who brings current Social Work field practice experience into the classroom and contributes to preparing students for ethical, competent, and culturally responsive social work practice.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program with a minimum of two years of post-master’s practice experience
  • A Doctorate in Social Work or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and community partners.

  • Candidates within 1 year of completing their doctoral degree will also be considered.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in social work practice
  • Providing supervision of students in field education
  • Integrating current evidence-based interventions and ethical decision-making into instruction
