Under the general direction of the City Manager, assists in the planning, directing, management and review of the activities and operations of the City; coordinates City services and activities among City departments and with outside agencies; provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager. Click Here to see Position Brochure: Essential Functions Performs highly responsible administrative and managerial duties assisting the City Manager in the administration of City government. Works with the City Manager in planning, organizing, coordinating, and implementing programs on matters affecting assigned areas of responsibility. Exercises initiative, discretion, and independent judgment within broad policy framework in carrying out policy interpretation. Assists in the formulation, direction and implementation of major policies and procedures. Advises the City Manager and department directors on areas of responsibility through oral or written reports. Meets regularly with staff to discuss and resolve workload and technical issues; develops goals and priorities; monitors operations to identify and resolve problems. Represents the City and/or the City Manager in meetings, conferences, negotiations, and other functions; serves on various teams, committees, and work groups as assigned. Evaluates pending or actual actions of other governmental bodies as they may have an impact on the City. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints. Manages and supervises special projects and task forces. Serves as the Acting City Manager in the absence of the City Manager. Ability to arrive to work on time and must maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
