Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent credential.
  • Relevant certification or degree in engineering or related field
  • Valid Hawaii Driver’s License is required.
  • Must pass HBM prescreen check.
  • Proven work experience in building maintenance and engineering
  • Knowledge of basic building maintenance and power tool usage.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of building management systems and operations
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Stellar public relations skills, with strong communication abilities.
  • Proven management/supervision work experience combined with engineering/maintenance skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull over 50-80 lbs., stand for long periods, and perform various physical tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC: EPA Universal Certification is a plus but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire your team by overseeing all building activities and personnel management.
  • Set and maintain high work performance standards and establish standard operating procedures.
  • Availability to work 24/7, including on-call duties and weekend shifts.
  • Be the first to know and act—escalate significant issues to executive management within 24 hours.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized services.
  • Optimize workflows to save time and enhance efficiency while keeping error logs.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, and team members to create a vibrant work environment.
  • Address and resolve performance issues across personnel, technology, and processes.
  • Manage budgets and maintain site standards, approving external vendor work with the property manager’s green light.
  • Ensure our site’s aesthetic appeal and functionality through regular inspections.
  • Keep track of inventory and equipment usage with precision.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and preventative maintenance, mechanical, and electrical issues, ensuring safety compliance.
  • Train security personnel in essential safety operations like fire alarms and building security.
  • Conduct daily checks on cooling towers and mechanical equipment for seamless operations.
  • Periodically inspect air handlers, exhaust fans, and timers to keep everything in top shape.
  • Manage work schedules and time sheets with impeccable organization.
  • Create, edit, and approve comprehensive reports on account status.
  • Collaborate with HR to write and issue disciplinary actions, ensuring a high-performing team.
