About The Position

The Assistant Center Store Manager is accountable for the efficient and effective execution of all operational functions within the Grocery Department, which includes Grocery Proper, Refrigerated, and Frozen categories. This role is responsible for leading the overnight team, ensuring seamless department operations, and maintaining high standards in merchandising, inventory management, and product quality. Key responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and supervising nightly workflows to optimize stocking, replenishment, and presentation of products. The Assistant Center Store Manager ensures all operational procedures are followed consistently, and that store readiness is achieved for the following day. In addition to operational excellence, the Manager is expected to model and promote a culture of “extra mile” hospitality, delivering genuine and compassionate service to all guests and fostering a positive team environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • At least 3 years of progressive supervisory experience
  • At least 2 years produce/retail environment experience
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of Natural Foods/Grocery industry
  • Thorough and proven knowledge State and Federal Health Department standards for both health and sanitation
  • Knowledge of local weights and measures guidelines
  • Knowledge of inventory management and tracking shrink/theft/loss
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Creativity and passion for the product
  • Strong leadership skills
  • High energy and an ability to work in a demanding environment
  • Self-management and an ability to remain calm under any stressful situation
