Requirements

  • Oversee the look, feel, organization and staffing needs of the department.
  • Keep in close communication with the Center Store Manager during evening hours.
  • Provide clear direction to stockers so shelves are fully stocked, front & faced, and have appropriate signage.
  • Demonstrate stocking skills in their own role as Stocker.
  • Supervise staff to monitor arrivals and departures according to schedule, ensure appropriate breaks are taken, and address staff issues using Team Lead input when necessary, always informing the Center Store Manager of any issues or events.
  • Train new stockers.
  • Delegate tasks performed by stockers on a daily basis.
  • Ensure proper and efficient closing of the department.
  • Ensure all staff are being productive and working safe.
  • Ensure department procedures and protocol are followed.
  • Ensure staff are providing superior customer service.
  • Delegate daily stocking tasks.
  • Act as point of contact for the department.
  • Troubleshoot staff call-outs; notify and contact Manager and obtain direction as necessary.
  • Handle staff issues by speaking privately with the individual and follow-up with the Grocery Manager and/or HR Properly.
  • Communicate information from daytime staff (Manager/Buyers/Merchandiser) to evening staff, as needed.
  • Communicate information regarding evening activities to Manager/Buyer, as needed.
  • Send an evening overview email to the Grocery Manager.
  • Act as a positive role model for all staff.
  • Ensure orders are properly stocked: dairy, frozen, packaged goods, bulk and housewares.
  • Ensure all product is neatly and accurately placed on shelves, allowing for proper facings according to shelf tags and signage.
  • Continually organize back stock to ensure all products lacking shelf space availability are organized and maintained.
  • Receive small vendor orders as needed; ensure that the product received matches the invoice.
  • Product facing; ensure all product is pulled to the front of the shelves and has an organized appearance.
  • Product maintenance; ensure all product has proper representation (signage) on the shelf, rotate all stock and pull out-of-date product, return all damaged product to Receiving for credit, replace discarded product to its proper home.
  • Shelf tag and signage maintenance: ensure that all shelf tags and signage are accurate and communicate needs.
  • Be knowledgeable and aware of monthly sales as well as changing displays to ensure they are well maintained and stocked.
  • Meticulously maintain cleanliness of shelving, coolers and cooler doors, as needed.
  • Meticulously maintain cleanliness and organization of back room.
  • Maintain the highest standards of courteous, professional customer service and sensitivity to customer’s needs.
  • Promptly remove all product from receiving; no product should remain in receiving for longer than 1 day.
  • Go the extra mile for guests and maintain the highest standards of courteous, professional customer service.
  • Attend all required meetings, trainings, seminars and workshops.
  • Stay passionate, educated and informed regarding new products and industry trends.
