This position supports the Store Manager in managing store operations according to Company guidelines and leads Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales. The role involves driving profitable sales through achievement of sales and profit goals, budget management, and sales forecasts. The Assistant Manager proactively analyzes sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to identify and respond to market changes while controlling expenditures. They create operational plans, prioritize, delegate, and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates, ensuring optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, and adherence to store standards. The role also involves executing and monitoring asset protection and safety controls, maintaining quality assurance, and overseeing safety and operational reviews. As an ambassador for the store, the Assistant Manager serves customers by greeting them, seeking feedback, and resolving issues to create a positive shopping experience. They model and enforce customer service approaches and techniques. The position supports store initiatives to serve the community by participating in events and developing relationships with community groups. Leading Associates involves conducting store meetings, communicating operational direction, driving engagement, recognizing accomplishments, and providing opportunities for professional growth and development. Associates are held accountable through performance feedback and corrective action. The role also involves building relationships with supporting functions within the store and district. Compliance with all Company standards and procedures when handling merchandise, including alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, and high-ticket items, is required. Appropriate cash controls are maintained, handling as much as two hundred and fifty thousand dollars per day.
